Donostia Innovation Challenge is a space where you can learn, in a fun way, to work as a team, research innovative solutions, undertake projects and solve challenges. It is about learning how to design and manage a project from a business and technical point of view, supported by solutions that include new technologies, how to manage a budget, putting oneself in the shoes of a client, as well as internalizing the importance of humility, empathy, courage or adaptability in all facets of life.
Donostia Innovation Challenge is a space to train the capacities linked to the Innovation of the young people in the city. We want to work through challenges in ideas to activate innovation in the city, counting on the collaboration of the young people who live there.
Fomento San Sebastián is developing this initiative with a working methodology that combines classroom sessions with online sessions for those centres interested in participating.

That the students learn and develop an innovation project based on a city challenge by going through the following stages
TECHNOLOGY
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
DESIGN AND CREATIVITY
PERSONAL SKILLS
These 4 blocks respond to the basic formula that we have developed and that is the pillar on which the development
and training strategy of the Donostia Innovation Campus in general and its Donostia Innovation Challenge format in particular is built,
combining technical capacities with attitudinal capacities.
The basic formula is as follows:
The formula responds to a logic that also takes into account the new labour market.
In this way, the Donostia Innovation Challenge works the combination of 9 T-capacities (Talent) with 10 A-capacities (Attitude):
In this way, the Donostia Innovation Challenge works the combination of 9 T-capacities (Talent) with 10 A-capacities (Attitude).
The Donostia Innovation Challenge proposes an innovative method of learning and developing skills and competences in line with the abilities that the current labour market, in constant evolution, is asking for. It contemplates evaluation tools, methods and educational resources, as well as values and contents that respond both to the students' needs and to the educational and innovative development of the Territory.
The development of the program has been designed so that the students can make "ONE TRIP", in whose 5 phases different technical and attitudinal skills are worked on: During this trip, the participants go through different stages in which they receive and work on different learning until the generation of a solution.
The work consists of face-to-face sessions complemented by follow-up with the tutor assigned by Fomento San Sebastián thanks to the use of online work tools. Moreover, the Donostia Innovation Challenge has an online platform where all contents are accessible, as a repository, as well as a game format in which to learn and work on all concepts, while touring around the city.
Go to siteOn the one hand, we have the annual city challenge launched by Fomento San Sebastián, in which different educational centres in the city, in collaboration with local entities (companies, technology centres, etc.), participate by trying to develop innovative solutions of different characteristics, using new technologies, to improve the day-to-day life of San Sebastian. This must respond to the needs of the challenges posed, which, always having a link to the city, may be very different depending on where the market and the participating companies place the focus.
On the other hand, we have another modality in which different entities of the city launch their own challenges, in which they work side by side with an educational centre.
This is definitely an interactive process with real problems in which entities/agents of the city and challenged educational centers work together in the co-creation and generation of value for the city with innovative solutions.
Likewise, the fact of conceiving the process as a journey enhances the so-called "soft skills" or personal abilities that do not emerge or develop with "academic" intelligence.
Donostia Innovation Challenge is based on a basic attitudinal decalogue to learn and train the attitudinal skills, along the process
